Proposed Bill Mandating Working Airbags in Used Vehicles Heads to Cuomo

A bill would make working airbags mandatory in used cars.

In 2013, an 18-year-old man purchased a pre-owned car which he didn't know lacked airbags. Anthony Amoros of Pomona died in a crash, and his parents believe that airbags would have spared him. The proposed law, which would only apply to dealerships and not private sellers, now heads to Governor Cuomo's desk, and he is expected to sign it.
