Service areas on the New York State Thruway will be getting some major upgrades in the coming months.
The Thruway Authority said Wednesday that starting July 29th the first phase of the $ 450 million-project will get underway. Some of the changes travelers can expect to see are the addition of new restaurants like Chick-fil-A and Shake Shack. Officials say no toll or state tax dollars will be used to pay for construction.
