The former top cop for Hudson and the Village of Chatham is sentenced to community service.
Peter Volkmann avoided prison time after pleading guilty to stealing over $74,000 in state and local retirement funds. He also stole over $18,000 from the Village of Chatham by falsifying mileage vouchers. Volkmann must complete at least 100-hours of community service by next July, and forfeit his position as Chatham village's chief of police.
