Governor Cuomo wants to get Broadway back on its feet with a $ 100 million tax credit. The Governor rolled out the New York City Musical and Theatrical Production Tax Credit this week to offset production costs within an industry that's suffered profound damage due to the pandemic shutdown. The two-year program gives eligible theatrical productions a break on sets, wardrobe, makeup, salaries, sound, lighting and staging. Deadline reports shows can get up to $ 4.5 million in assistance. Before the pandemic, Broadway shows reportedly welcomed some 250,000 visitors weekly, employing about 90,000 people and bringing $ 14 billion into New York's economy.
