Albany County has joined the growing list of locations where mask use indoors is being suggested by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The agency says the county has been deemed a place where the spread of COVID-19 is considered substantial. Schoharie and Columbia counties were also added to that group Sunday while Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties reached that designation late last week. Experts believe the rise in new cases is connected to the Delta COVID-19 variant.
