The New York State Fair begins in Syracuse later this week, and Empire State residents have the chance to receive free admission for life.
The New York State DMV says anyone who orders a custom New York State Fair license plate in-person or online during the event that runs from Friday through Labor Day will be entered in the contest. However, attendance at the fair itself isn't required to be eligible. The initial cost of the plate is $43 and it comes with a $15 yearly renewal fee. Personalized plates will set people back $75 with a $ 46 yearly renewal fee.
