Folks who don't want to travel on the New York State Thruway to get to the State Fair have another option thanks to Amtrak.
The rail company is offering select Empire Service and Maple Leaf trains from the Capital Region to the state fairgrounds through Labor Day. Trains will also be making stops in both the city of Syracuse and Rochester.
