Funeral services have been announced for a New York State Trooper who drowned at Great Sacandaga Lake.
A wake for 45-year-old Trooper James Monda will be held from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm Sunday at Saint John the Evangelist Church on Union Street in Schenectady. That'll be followed by his funeral at 10:00 am Monday, also at the church. Monda died Sunday following an unscheduled training exercise at the lake. Governor Hochul has ordered flags across the state be lowered to half-staff from Wednesday through Monda's burial.
