With the spread of COVID-19 continuing across New York, Governor Hochul is now making it mandatory for businesses to ensure their employees are protected from the virus.
Under New York State's HERO Act, workplaces must have a plan in place to keep coronavirus and other airborne infectious diseases from spreading. Some of the steps they can take include employee health screenings, putting a mask policy in place, and making sure social distancing is possible. The HERO Act also protects workers from any potential retaliation they may receive from employers or co-workers for following safety guidelines.
