NY Provides Funding And Resources to Combat Hate Crimes

New York state is taking additional steps to combat hate crimes with an increase in funding and new online resources.

Governor Kathy Hochul spoke Wednesday at the Museum of Jewish Heritage which she pointed out is itself a stark reminder of what can happen when hate goes unchallenged. Calling it imperative for all New Yorkers to stand up and call out hate crimes wherever they occur, she announced $ 25 million in funding through the Division of Criminal Justice to enhance statewide hate crime security and preparedness projects. She also announced the launch of a website where anyone can now report hate attacks, so the state can now deploy help and resources immediately to affected communities.
