Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo appears to have been planning to boot current Governor Kathy Hochul as his running mate if he sought a fourth term.
The New York Post says earlier this year aides for the ex-governor told then-Lieutenant Governor Hochul that she would be replaced on the Democratic ticket in 2022. Hochul became governor back in August when Cuomo resigned after being accused of sexual harassment. The governor has said she and Cuomo weren't close and that he previously tried to oust her at the end of the 2014 primary and in 2018. Hochul is planning to run for a full four-year term next year.
