It's Election Day and Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan is going to find out if voters want her to serve a third term in office.
Sheehan, a Democrat, is facing challenges from independent candidate Greg Aidala, Republican Alicia Purdy and Valerie Faust who is running a write-in campaign. Sheehan originally planned on serving just two terms, but said she wants four more years to help the city get through the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and also rebuild the economy. During the campaign, the candidates have focused on several issues including affordable housing and public safety.
