Albany County officials have revealed the new name for what's currently known as the Times Union Center.
On Monday, it was announced that the Downtown Albany facility will soon be called the MVP Arena since MVP Health Care has secured the naming rights to the building. MVP will spend two-million-dollars annually for those rights and on other initiatives during the five-year contract. Officials say Berkshire Bank, MTX Group and Transfinder also bid for the naming rights. The Times Union announced earlier this year it wouldn't renew its contract.
