Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin has announced his running mate as he seeks the Republican nomination for governor.
New York Police Department Deputy Inspector Alison Esposito has been chosen to join Zeldin, who is hoping to be the first member of the GOP to be elected governor in years. Zeldin says that Esposito is a fighter who is looking forward to bringing her spirit, ideas and energy to the state capital. Esposito says if she ends up becoming lieutenant governor, she'll work to keep the people of New York safe.
