A Rensselaer County grand jury has indicted a Petersburgh man who is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend.
Prosecutors say 22-year-old Ian Hasselwander stabbed and strangled 20-year-old Morgan Bates. She was reported missing back on February 22nd and her body was found five days later near Black River Road which is located in Cherry Plain State Park. Hasselwander was arraigned in Rensselaer County Court Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to several charges including murder. He faces 25 years to life in prison if found guilty.
