Sen. Gillibrand to Unveil Plan to Put an End to Baby Formula Shortage

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will be unveiling her own plan Wednesday to try and put an end to the nationwide shortage of baby formula.

The New York lawmaker says the Emergency Infant Formula Act would increase domestic production of formula to deal with the current crisis and prevent future shortages. On Monday, Gillibrand called on President Biden to invoke the Defense Production Act in an effort to get more formula on store shelves nationwide. The cause of the current shortage is due to several reasons such as inflation, supply chain issues and safety concerns.
