There are now even stricter gun laws in New York state following numerous deadly shootings. Governor Hochul signed numerous bills into law including raising the age to buy and own a semi-automatic weapon from 18 to 21-years-old.
There are also new restrictions on civilian purchases of bullet proof body armor. The alleged 18-year-old shooter in the deadly Buffalo supermarket killing purchased a semi-automatic gun and wore body armor.
Another bill the Democratic governor signed into law requires new guns to have microstamping technology to allow investigators to match bullets to firearms.
