Governor Kathy Hochul has signed new legislation to further protect New York's LGBTQ+ workers.
The new legislation establishes the Lorena Borjas Transgender Wellness and Equity Fund which will support organizations that provide critical services to the transgender and non-binary community. The legislation also ensures non-binary or gender non-conforming New Yorkers can fully participate in the democratic process by providing more than just "male" and "female" gender options when seeking office.
