Members of the Troy City Council will be meeting Thursday night to fill the Second District Council seat that's been vacant for weeks.
Democrat Steven Figueroa is going to take over for former Republican Councilwoman Kim Ashe-McPherson who stepped down back in June after pleading guilty in connection with a ballot fraud investigation. Once Figueroa is sworn-in, Democrats will have the majority in the City Council. A special election is going to take place in November to determine who represents the Second District in 2023.
