Andrew Cuomo, who was driven out of the New York governor's office last year by multiple scandals including sexual harassment, will get to keep his book deal money.
Cuomo got a $5 million check for writing his COVID memoirs while governor. A now-defunct state ethics watchdog, JCOPE, ordered the disgraced governor to surrender the money claiming he improperly used state staffers, supposedly "volunteers," in writing "American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic."
An Albany court ruled Tuesday that JCOPE overstepped its authority, denying Cuomo due process. Cuomo has denied wrongdoing.
