Starting Wednesday, employees at the Amazon Distribution Center in Schodack will begin voting on whether they want to be part of a union.
The voting goes until Monday and if the measure is passed, the facility would be only the second one in the country to unionize. Employees say they want increased pay and safer working conditions. Amazon says that the company takes adequate safety measures and works to accommodate the needs of its employees.
