It appears that construction of a new Livingston Avenue Bridge may finally be getting underway next year.
An environmental review process has been finished, giving the project a green light to move forward. Parts of the current bridge date back to the 1860's and the new span is expected to improve rail service and provide bicyclists and pedestrians with a safer way to get across the Hudson River between Albany and Rensselaer. The state DOT is recommending that the new bridge be built just south of the current one.
