Capital Region Bracing For Storm That's Expected to Bring Snow, Rain

Folks across the Capital Region are bracing for a storm that could create some messy travel conditions across the area.

The National Weather Service says snow is going to arrive ahead of the Wednesday evening commute and some locations could see several inches of precipitation. Snow is likely going to mix in with rain at times before the weather system moves out. National Grid says it will have crews ready to respond to any power outages or other problems caused by the storm.

AccuWeather forecast:

Wednesday: cloudy with periods of snow in the afternoon, accumulating a coating to an inch. Plan for slippery travel. High 34.

Wednesday night: cloudy with wet snow this evening, accumulating 2-4 inches followed by a bit of snow, sleet and rain late. Snow can make roads and sidewalks slippery, causing travel disruptions. Low 32.

Thursday: considerable cloudiness and breezy with a bit of snow with little or no accumulation; storm total snowfall 2-4 inches. High 39.

Friday: low clouds. High 33.

Saturday: mostly cloudy. High 39.

Sunday: cloudy with a shower in the area in the afternoon. High 40.
