Schenectady City Council Imposes Big Fines for Fireworks

With the 4th of July just around the corner, Schenectady City Council is making it very expensive to set off fireworks in the city.

They've approved a $250 fine per firework.

The measure also allows police to confiscate fireworks or any of the devices used to launch them.

The County Legislature approved a ban on sparklers and ground-based fireworks in April.
