Prosecutors are making their case at the retrial of former State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and his son Adam.
During opening statements Wednesday, they argued that Skelos abused his political power to satisfy personal greed.
Prosecutors say Skelos strong-armed business people who needed his vote to shake down more than $ 300 thousand in payoffs and give his son cushy no show jobs.
Both Skelos and his son were found guilty of conspiracy, extortion and soliciting bribes in 2015, but had their convictions overturned.
