Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Visits the Capital Region

It's a sign of the holidays when you see the Canadian Pacific Holiday train hitting the area.

Two trains left Montreal this weekend, one stopped in Mechanicville Sunday.

The trains travel to over 180 communities across the U.S. and Canada, asking spectators to donate food and money to local food banks along the way.

While in Mechanicville, Canadian pacific donated $3,500 to the Mechanicville Area Community Services Food Pantry Center, Inc. Food Pantry.

Megan Quillinan, Executive Director of the Mechanicville Area Community Services Center, Inc. Food Pantry, said the donation is greatly appreciated.

After the visit to Mechanicville, the train also made a stop in Saratoga Springs Sunday night.

The Holiday Train program has run for 19 years, and has raised $13 million dollars and four million pounds of food for local food banks.
