Another Nurses Strike at Berkshire Medical Center Planned

Nurses at Berkshire Medical Center will go on another strike.

The Massachusetts Nurses Association alerted the hospital of its decision Thursday after its members authorized a strike last month.

If a deal can't be made next week between the union and hospital, about 800 nurses would walk out on February 27th.

The nurses already held a one-day strike in October and ended up being locked out for several days because replacement nurses had to be brought in.

Two sides have been negotiating since September of 2016 since the union's contract lapsed.

The main sticking point is what the nurses say are staffing issues.
