After Coeymans Raccoon Incident, Albany County Offers Help

Albany County Animal Training

In the wake of an incident in Coeymans, in which two officers used their patrol cars to run down and kill a rabid raccoon, the Albany County Sheriff's Office is offering training to help local police agencies deal with calls that involve an injured or sick animal.

Sheriff Craig Apple says he wants to put something together so that everyone knows what to do and who to call.

Apple led a training session for law enforcement officers on Tuesday in the wake of that incident.

No charges were filed against the officers who ran down the raccoon.
