Gov. Andrew Cuomo still holds a significant lead on Democratic challenger Cynthia Nixon in a new Quinnipiac University Poll, but Nixon is closing the gap.
The poll shows the governor ahead, 50% to 28%.
That shows the tightening of the 31 point gap in a similar April poll from Siena College.
The poll also shows Cuomo leads Republican Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro 57% to 26% statewide, but only by 44% to 41% in upstate New York.
In a potential three way race, Molinaro polls the best upstate, with 35%.
