More high speed electric vehicle charging stations are being added along the Thruway.
The first phase of the project involves installing two stations at 13 Thruway owned commuter parking lots that take four to eight hours to charge and are geared to commuters who can leave their cars parked during the day.
Chargers also will be installed at nine Thruway service areas that can fully charge an electric vehicle in 30 minutes or less.
The total number of charging stations state wide will then total over 2,000, with a goal of reaching 3,000 by the end of the year.
