There were no surprises so far from either the Democrats or the Republicans, who are both wrapping up their two-day state conventions Thursday.
Incumbent Governor Andrew Cuomo, as expected, got his party's nomination for a third term, with more than 95% of the vote.
As for actress Cynthia Nixon, she can still get on the primary ballot if she gets enough signatures from voters.
Meanwhile, Republicans go with Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro.
Members of both parties will nominate candidates for Attorney General Thursday.
New York City Public Advocate Tish James appears to be the Democrats' front-runner, although Fordham Law Professor Zephyr Teachout says she's in the race.
Republicans are expected to nominate Manhattan attorney Keith Wofford.
According to a recent Siena College poll, Molinaro trails Governor Cuomo 57% - 31%.
