NXIVM's Raniere's Request to be Out on Bond Denied by Judge

A federal judge has rejected NXIVM founder Keith Raniere's request to be released from custody while his criminal case is pending.

A 16 page ruling from a federal judge in Brooklyn says Raniere is a flight risk, a danger to the community, and has access to enormous wealth from his supporters.

His lawyers had requested that their client be released on $10 million bond.

In April, Raniere and actress Allison Mack were charged with sex trafficking and forced labor.

Prosecutors allege the two formed a group within NXIVM that forced women into a secret sex cult.

They both go on trial October 1st.
