The state is distributing educational pamphlets about swimmer's itch at Moreau Lake Beach.
This comes after two families reported skin irritations following a visit to the beach.
Swimmer's itch is caused when a type of microscopic parasite comes into contact with the skin and burrows in.
It can be uncomfortable, but is essentially harmless.
The parasites die soon after, but a rash may last for several days.
It seldom requires medical treatment.
