Gomes Gets A Year in Jail for Cohoes Fire

It will be a year in jail for the man who pleaded guilty to starting the Remsen Street fire in Cohoes last year.

John Gomes will spend that year in the Albany County Jail.

Gomes admitted starting the fire that destroyed several buildings while trying to make a sword in his backyard.

Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to fourth degree arson, which means he didn't intend the damage that happened.
