Albany Tries to Heal After Weekend Homicide, Third in July

Albany Homicide

Albany police continue their search for a suspect in the weekend shooting of a 31 year old man on Quail Street.

Khalil Barnes is the third person to be killed in Albany this month, and the eighth homicide victim this year.

Community residents came to Arbor Hill Park on Sunday to address the recent spike in violence.

Barnes' mother, Fatimah Rucker, says it's time for people to come together.

Barnes' father, Marcus "Minister Justice" Barnes, says young men and women need role models.

Barnes was found shot inside a parked car at Quail and First on Saturday morning.

He was treated at the scene, and taken to Albany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests at this point.

Members of four different motorcycle clubs came together on Sunday to clean the streets, literally.

No arrests have been made in the case.  If you have any information, police want to hear from you.
