Grand Jury - Troy Officer Involved Shooting Was Justified

Troy Police Shooting

A grand jury has ruled that an officer involved shooting in Troy last August was justified.

The panel says Officer Jarrod Iler was justified in the non-fatal shooting of Dahmeek McDonald last August.

An investigation found Iler fired four bullets as McDonald's car came toward him.

McDonald, a wanted parole violator, was hit in the forearm and temple, but has recovered from those injuries.

Schenectady County DA Bob Carney, who acted as special prosecutor, says the panel heard from close to 50 witnesses and examined 80 exhibits.
