Cuomo Opens His Wallet to Keep Brendan's Lemonade Stand Open

Gov. Cuomo says he'll put up his own money to help Brendan Mulvaney reopen his lemonade stand.

Seven year old Brendan was selling cold beverages outside the gate of the Saratoga County Fairgrounds last week, when someone in a Department of Health shirt told him to close up shop for lack of a permit.

The governor says he'll pay the $30 to help get the necessary paperwork, and praised the boy for his entrepreneurial spirit.

Sen. Jim Tedisco plans to introduce legislation that would exempt children who operate a pop-up stand under adult supervision from having to obtain a permit.
