Missing Richmondville Girl Found But She Didn't Want to Be

Amanda Putorti

There’s a happy, but strange conclusion to a missing person’s case from Schoharie County.

A 16 year old girl from Richmondville, reported missing in March is found alive and well, hiding in a small compartment in a wall in an Albany County house.

Police say she went there willingly and did not want to be found.

State Police say Amanda Putorti was being helped by four people who have since been charged.

Jeremy Schaefer, John Winnie, Nicole Briggs, and an unidentified 17 year old, all from Preston Hollow, are charged with child endangerment.

No reason given on why the girl ran away.
