With the rooftop caving in, the 6 E-Comm Square building in downtown Albany is coming down.
Broadway from Division Street to Quay Street is closed to all traffic, as the demolition process is underway, and it could take a couple of days to completely bring the long abandoned building down.
It's one of several vacant structures owned by the Convention Center Authority at a site once slated as a possible location for a convention center.
Former State Assemblyman Jack McEneny says the building has been empty for at least a dozen years.
McEneny is hoping something positive can go up there, in his words, something other than a parking lot.
A spokesman says the group is actively trying to have Capitalize Albany Corporation take over ownership.
