Mayor's Pick for Albany Police Chief in Town for Meetings

The man Albany mayor Kathy Sheehan has named to be the city's next police chief is scheduled to be in town Tuesday to meet with members of Common Council's Public Safety Committee. 

Eric Hawkins comes from suburban Detroit, and is expected to be formally confirmed in his new post in early September.

Hawkins recently met with reporters at Sheehan's office, and promised to work with all segments of the community.
