Former Syracuse Mayor Wants to Run for Governor of New York

Stephanie Minor

The former mayor of Syracuse, Stephanie Miner, is trying to make sure she's on the ballot for the governor's race this fall.

Miner says she'll give the state Board of Elections nearly 4,100 petition signatures, far above the 15,000 required to appear on the ballot as an independent.

Miner says she was able to find supporters in nearly every congressional district in New York.

Miner was Syracuse's mayor for eight years, and only launched her bid for governor in June.
