A trailblazing candidate in nearby Vermont is now, sadly, seeing the dark side of politics.
Democrat Christine Hallquist is the nation's first transgender candidate to win the gubernatorial nomination of a major party, and is now getting death threats from all over.
Hallquist, a former utility executive, is now limiting information about public appearances and keeping a low-profile campaign office, but says she's not concerned about her safety.
She says threats have popped up on social media and over the phone, and she and her staff are working with the FBI.
Hallquist is set to face incumbent Republican Phil Scott this fall.
