The Times Union Center and its parent company have filed a breach of contract lawsuit against the man who was to have produced the January 26th concert with James Taylor and John Legend.
The event had been planned to help celebrate the arena's reopening after nearly $20 million in renovations earlier this year.
The show was cancelled when John Scher was unable to pay his share of advances to the two performers.
According to the Gazette the suit is seeking $45,0000 in economic damages, plus punitive and general damages.
