Ground Broken on New "1863 Club" at Saratoga Race Course

Saratoga Race Course

Less than a day after the final race at Saratoga, ground was broken for the new "1863 Club".

It's designed to replace the "At the Rail" pavilion.

NYRA CEO Chris Kay says there is a very good reason to get started now, to make sure everything is set before the season next year.

Plans are for the three story building to be ready for the first day of 2019 meet.

The 1863 Club building is named after the year the first racing meet was held at Saratoga.
