Albany Police Combating A.T.V.s and Dirt Bikes on City Streets

Albany's new police chief is responding to an old issue in the city.

Residents in the Hudson Park neighborhood say they have complained for months to police and city officials about ATVs and dirt bikes riding on city streets and sidewalks.

Police Chief Eric Hawkins says he was only just made aware of the issue.

He adds that Albany Police are working to combat this issue, saying it is unacceptable, that it places lives at risk as it is a quality of life issue, and that it needs to stop.

Hawkins says the department is currently developing a plan to get the dirt bikes and ATVs off of city streets.
