45-year-old Daniel Nellis Sr. of Fulton County has been charged with second degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Michaela Macvilla.
Macvilla went missing at the end of September. She was last seen leaving the Stewart's where she worked on West Main Street in St. Johnsville.
Her body was discovered a week later. Police revealed Thursday that a single gunshot wound to the head is what killed her.
Nellis Sr. is also facing weapons possession charges.
The investigation remains open.
