Former State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos is going to jail.
Skelos will report to a federal prison in January rather than seek bail pending his appeal.
Skelos was convicted on federal corruption charges for shaking down businesses in an effort to get fees for his son, Adam.
The two were found guilty during a retrial in July and according to their attorneys they'll both report January 8th.
The elder Skelos will serve his time at a medium-security federal prison in Orange County, while Adam will serve his sentence at a low-security federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut.
