The New York Farm Bureau says the cost of a typical Thanksgiving dinner is nearly 20% higher than last year.
The average total price for a traditional sit-down dinner is $54.53, almost $10 higher than 2017, much of that is attributed to turkey prices that are up by about $1.86 a pound in New York State.
That's steeper than the national numbers, which saw wholesale prices remain stable over last year.
Some things are cheaper, like milk, fresh carrots, cranberries, and pumpkin pie mix.
The Bureau says despite the increase, a turkey dinner is still affordable on a per-person basis, a little more than $5 each for a 10-person meal.
