It's an idea that's been tossed around for years, and it looks like it might happen next summer.
There's a lot of speculation that NYRA will vote next week to make a change to the Saratoga racing season.
It would start earlier in July, and still end on Labor Day, but have two "dark days" a week, meaning no racing on Mondays and Tuesdays during the season.
Former NYRA Board Member John Hendrickson says he's definitely not in favor.
Cindy Hollowood is with the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs likes the idea.
Some think any change in the calendar would dilute racing in Saratoga.
The season would still be 40 days long, but more spread out, with an additional weekend or two.
NYRA said late Thursday it will release the dates for the 2019 racing season at “the appropriate time."
