A new law passed in the Prince Edward Island Province of Canada will penalize drivers who pass a school bus that has its red lights flashing.
The driver could lose their license for three months and face a fine of $5,000. Drivers would then have to take a defensive driving course in order to get their license reinstated.
A 7-year-old girl was nearly hit in Pittstown in October when a driver failed to stop behind a school bus.
